It doesn't get more secure.
Visible or invisible: The SILATEC alarm system is integrated into the safety glass, and protected against the effects of the weather. Any attack that causes the glass to splinter triggers the alarm system. The alarm is triggered. Note: "Splintering" of the pane. Nonetheless, no breach is possible. The pane splinters only inside itself, but remains like a wall.
Our alarm glass is available in three different designs: invisible, visible in only one corner of the glass pane, or with visible alarm wire across the entire glass surface.
We recommend the visible alarm system for shop windows. The average observer doesn't notice it, as it is unconspicuous in a corner at approx. 5 x 5 cm. Burglars, however, recognise it immediately and are intimidated.
In private houses, for aesthetic reasons, we generally recommend our invisible alarm system. Nothing should spoil your view.
Our alarm glass with the flat alarm wire in the pane can increase the intimidating effect and is used preferentially in jeweller's shops, where it is considered important that the customer can continue to view the display. The reason for this lies in the different fracture pattern of alarm glass with alarm systems and alarm wire.
ALARM SYSTEM (AS)
generally at least 20 × 20 cm; max.:

SIZE OF THE ALARM LOOP:
approx. 4 cm diameter
VdS and SILATEC recommend arranging the alarm loop at the top, in order to prevent corrosion in the frame caused by standing water. The position of the alarm loop (e.g. top right) must be apparent in the external view.
approx. 1 to 6 Ohm depending on model. The particular value is indicated on the sticker on the glass.
MAX. CURRENT LOAD:
≤ 0.1 A
flexible round cable (approx. 3.3 mm diameter), 4-wire with plug connection, which appears at the edge of the pane. Two wires are connected to the alarm loop; the two others represent the sabotage connection and must be monitored by measurements. Length: approx. 20cm
FLAT PLUG EXTENSION:
3m, 6m, 10m
WITH ALARM WIRE(AW)
silver, diameter approx. 0.1 mm
according to VdS guideline 2103 for jewellery and watch shops
max. 15 mm
approx. 4.7 Ohm per m (approx. 300 Ohm per m2 at 15 mm wire distance)
The sketches show the alarm glass from outside. For optimal security, we recommend that the alarm wires be connected diagonally.
flexible cable with approx. 0.25 mm2 cross section, which appears at the edge of the glass pane.
depending on the connection type, but at least long enough so that each of the two cables reaches the other connection on the same pane.
